Cookie Dough Nice CreamCookie Dough (N)Ice Cream. This became my favorite breakfast almost 3 years ago! This has been one of my most requested recipes, whenever I post it on my Insta Stories. Getting the taste and texture correctly has taken some work, but I’ve reached a point where I think it’s pretty similar to actual cookie dough ice cream.

Okay, so if you’re new to this lifestyle, you’re probably wondering what the heck is nice cream?

IMG_9963Nice Cream is Ice Cream, only that it’s made from frozen bananas, making it nicer for your body, the planet, and the animals. Nice Cream is so healthy, that you can have it any time of the day, yes! even for breakfast. So if you love bananas, you’ll definitely love this!

How to make Nice Cream

Here’s the tricky part: You’ll definitely need a food processor or a high powered blender if you want to eat this straight away. If you don’t have either, you can use a bullet or a regular blender, but you’ll need to add some sort of liquid which can end up as a smoothie that you’ll have to freeze.

With a food processor: The process usually takes about 5 minutes. Blend the frozen bananas in the food processor until they turn into a smooth and creamy treat resembling soft serve ice cream. You may need to stop blending and move the frozen bananas around with a spoon or rubber spatula.

The banana flavor is very present, you’ll eventually get used to it, but it doesn’t have to be all banana. You can add other ingredients to change it up a bit. Some other flavors can be:

  • Chocolate + Peanut Butter
  • Berries
  • Caramel + Pecans
  • Lavender
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Cookie Dough

Notes:

    • To make this recipe you don’t need vegan cookie dough bites, but it adds more texture.
    • Buy a high powered food processor! It’s such an amazing appliance, that can really do it (almost) all. If you attempt to make this recipe in a regular blender, there may be smoke.
    • If you’re trying to keep this recipe raw & SOS friendly, change up the chocolate chips for some cacao nibs.

 

  • Leftovers? Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer. I like to save them in a mason jar because it makes for a great breakfast when on the go.

Recipe: Cookie Dough Nice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 frozen medium-sized bananas
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • Splash of vegan-friendly vanilla extract
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup vegan-friendly chocolate chips or cacao nibs
  • Optional: handful of walnuts, chopped
  • Optional: Vegan Cookie Dough bites

Procedure:

  1. Add frozen bananas to food processor, and blend. You may have to stop a few times to scrape the sides. Add almond butter and blend until completely smooth.
  2. Blend in the cinamon, vanilla extract, chia seeds & cacao powder.
  3. When everything’s incorporated, add the rest of the ingredients and give it a quick blend. Quick enough to make everything blend, but for them to not change their texture.
